When I needed to replace my old gasoline powered lawn mower, I bought an EGO Power Self-Propelled Cordless Electric Mower.
I replaced my gas-powered string trimmer for a battery-powered string trimmer. I also have a cordless electric leaf blower, too.

A cordless electric lawn mower, leaf blower or other tool requires no regular servicing. There is no spark plug or filter to change. No oil to change or add. No regular tune-ups are required. That saves you money—and hassles.
Easy Start Up and Operating
If you have owned a gas-powered mower, string trimmer, snow blower, or any other power tool, you know how difficult they can be to start. The pull cord technology seems so ancient compared to the on/off button on a modern battery powered tool. My EGO Electric Blower starts instantly when I squeeze the throttle trigger. I can’t even explain how happy that makes me.

Gas vs. Electric Power Equipment: Less Noise for Electric
I live in suburbia. I hate to be bothered by the noise of a neighbor’s gas lawn mower or other power tool. And I hated to be the one making all that noise when I had a gasoline lawn mower.
Now I’m not that guy. When I trim my sidewalk edge with my cordless electric string trimmer, my neighbor “complains” about all the noise I am making—with a big smile on his face. My battery powered tools help make the neighborhood a better place. (I also don’t have to wear ear protection.)
Environment Friendly
An electric power tool releases ZERO emissions. No emissions and no smell. Sure, the lithium-ion batteries need to be recharged, and that power must be generated at a power plant. But that’s a small amount of power. And a gasoline lawn mower emits as much pollution as a gasoline-powered car.

It was once true that cordless electric equipment couldn’t match the power of gasoline equipment. The latest developments in lithium-ion batteries and electric motor efficiency have made cordless electric tools plenty powerful enough for virtually all homeowner needs. If you have a huge homestead property, you can’t convert to all-electric equipment. However, for homeowners like me, electric tools are powerful enough for my needs. Plus, cordless electric tools are lighter and more maneuverable.
When I added up all the benefits of cordless electric, it was it was easy for me to make the switch. As a proud suburban homeowner, I don’t think I will ever buy another piece of gas-powered equipment.
